Agreement with Qatar Vinyl Company
BIS Production Partner Norge has signed an agreement with Qatar Vinyl Company (QVC) consisting of consultancy and other services within maintenance, rotating machinery, fireproofing and deliveries from the plastics workshop.
The agreement provides the framework for deliveries to QVC. Now it is up to us to take advantage of these opportunities, says the manager of BIS Production Partner Consultancy, Yngve Rune Olsen. It is important to utilise the opportunities presented to us. If the agreement doesn’t lead to any opportunities, we won’t gain financially.
The plastics workshop already makes regular deliveries to QVC. This agreement ensures that the arrangement will continue. However, we must strive to exhibit our expertise from VCM and the chlorine plant at Rafnes. The door is slightly ajar for the delivery of expertise and consultancy services. The same is true for fireproofing. Our aim is to deliver services and equipment for NOK 3 mill. annually.
Why would a company in Qatar choose to enter into an agreement with a company so far away?
There are historical reasons for this. Norwegians and Norwegian companies are well established in Qatar. There is good chemistry between us and the customers due to Hydro’s long term engagement in the area. We have a good reputation down here, explains Yngve Rune Olsen.
