Maintenance Partner

Our Maintenance Partner Concept is based on pre-agreed levels for the HES standard, maintenance costs and uptime (availability) for production equipment.

The cooperation is described in a commercial Partnership agreement with a defined incentive model and joint responsibility for improvements.

BIS Production Partner as a Maintenance Partner

As a Maintenance Partner, BIS Production Partner takes over the responsibility of planning and execution of plant maintenance. Standard work processes are implemented with defined roles and functions. Additionally our HES standard is implemented based on Best Practice as maintained by all of our partnership customers.

Scale and equalising effects are achieved through our area concept with several local customers as partners.
Standard improvement tools from our “Toolbox” are used to achieve constant improvements in cooperation with the customer.

Maintenance analysis

Together with the customer’s representatives BIS Production Partner analyses existing procedures and maintenance routines. The analysis is based on a standard maintenance process and crucial areas that are assessed, which include:

  • HES level
  • Maintenance level
  • Uptime for the equipment
  • Maintenance costs

In the analysis report we propose actual improvements and efficiency measures. The report is the basis for decisions on further cooperation and partnership.

Resource management through the Maintenance Centre

Our area concept includes the establishment of a Maintenance Centre. This is where all resource management of own personnel and suppliers takes place. The first priority is to secure optimum utilisation of own personnel through sound planning and work crew flexibility.

All suppliers are engaged through the Maintenance Centre in order to ensure maximum resource control.
At the Maintenance Centre assignments are carried out through a cross-coordination arrangement of partnership customers with, among others, coordinating of turnarounds and larger machinery assignments.

Measurable results

In order to achieve improvements, and to be able to document these, together we establish concrete objectives in the form of KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). Achieving the objectives is a shared responsibility for the individual customer and for BIS Production Partner. A distribution key can also be determined for non-conformities in regard to targeted maintenance cost and uptime.

The partnership agreement and results are followed up in a systematically defined ‘follow-up structure’.

Advantages to the customer are as follows:

  • Maintenance costs range from fixed to variable
  • Optimum exploitation of resources in regard to own and contract-hired personnel
  • Enhanced expertise through rotation of personnel
  • Increased level of efficiency through commercial cooperation
  • Development of Best Practice in maintenance
  • Access to resources with considerable flexibility and expertise
  • Development of competence network; for instance in rotating machinery and turnarounds
