BIS Production Partner carries out maintenance of anode ovens and foundry furnaces for the aluminium industry. We also install electrolytic cells.
Our products and contracts
Our products and contracts in the aluminium industry comprise three main segments; electrolysis, foundry and carbon.
Electrolysis
Services in electrolysis involve:
- Dismantling of cathode and anode
- Installing of fireproof lining in cathode
- Installing of anode
BIS Production Partner carries out all lining of electrolysis ovens for Hydro Aluminium’s plants in Norway. 250 - 300 cells are lined each year. BIS Production Partner is responsible for the dismantling and lining, as well as installation of cathodes and anodes. The plants are built in accordance with the customers’ own specifications. We also carry out regular maintenance of electrolysis ovens.
Foundry
The foundry segment involves daily maintenance of:
- Foundry furnaces
- Gutters/chutes
- Pots
- Filters
BIS Production Partner is the preferred supplier of fireproof work assignments at Hydro Aluminium’s foundries in Norway and pressbolt foundries in Europe.
BIS Production Partner has developed a separate concept for maintenance and construction of foundry furnaces.
Carbon
Daily maintenance of anode ovens entails replacement and repair of:
- Caisson walls
- Flange@ walls
- Oven extinguishing
BIS Production Partner has responsibility for the maintenance of Hydro Aluminium’s anode ovens in Norway. Hydro Aluminium has four ovens in Norway, three in Årdal and one at Sunndalsøra. BIS Production Partner is in charge of all fireproofing maintenance of these ovens.
We also undertake total rehabilitation of chambers
Fireproofing workshop
BIS Production Partner has its own fireproofing workshop in Porsgrunn. Prefabrication of fireproof details takes place here that are delivered fully tempered. The equipment also includes modern casting equipment that allows complete quality assurance of casting details.
Machinery and equipment
BIS Production Partner has all machinery and equipment required to carry out fireproof maintenance and assembly. This applies - among other things - to:
- Demolition machines for disassembling
- Stone saws, mixing machines and Shotcrete equipment (injection moulding) for installation
- Stationary ovens and mobile equipment for tempering
- Shotcreteing (injection moulding)
